People & Culture Manager (HR)

As a People & Culture Manager (aka HR Manager), you will be tasked to ensure our people's stuff is going great and aligned with our business goals and strategy. You will be responsible for strengthening our culture, making sure everyone is happy, and also helping to find people who would be an amazing fit for our values.

When we started Refokus (January 2021), and after being in the agency and startup industry for more than 10 years, we set ourselves to take special care of our culture, our team, our people. This is a leadership role where you will be a key part of this fast-growing agency, setting the foundations of your department and collaborating with the rest of the leadership team on strategy, direction, and decision making. 

We understand that your own growth is important, and we also support our leadership team with coaching sessions from industry leaders who have been working with us for a while.

What you'll do

You will be in charge of the whole People & Culture department as you set the foundations of our HR processes and build your team to delegate and optimize our impact.

  • You are responsible for all things HR within the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. Setting up contracts and welcome packages for new employees, and collaborating with different departments to keep our people happy and motivated.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and communicate findings to leadership, developing HR strategies, policies and implementing best practices.
  • Act as an all-around point of contact for our team, escalating incoming requests, scheduling time-off and holidays, managing payroll, 
  • Conduct ongoing feedback loops for employee engagement, performance, and development opportunities.

  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR role, ideally in a digital/creative agency or tech company/startup.
  • You have experience in creative recruiting. Your main job won't be recruiting, but as you build your team, you need to be able to support recruitment roles and activities.
  • You have strong collaborative skills working in a dynamic and international organization.
  • You can handle sensitive matters with empathy, diplomacy, attention, and care.
  • Experience with Personio is a plus.
  • You are fluent in English (our company language is English)
  • You are a native German speaker
